I have been a big fan of most of the Citrix product line for years now. We have quite a few GoToMyPC accounts at our offices, as it allows full interaction for our employees when telecommuting. We tested many solutions when we all moved to using dual monitor setups and GoToMyPC won the battle for quality and ease of use.
The other Citrix product we use on a daily basis is GoToMeeting. For years we struggled to provide remote customer support to our clients with only a phone call. When we are talking about software and hardware support, this can be cumbersome and often a huge waste of time. When we tried GoToMeeting as a trial, it was still being pushed mostly for sales execs. It looked to turn road warriors into work from home warriors. Within minutes, we knew this would be a great addition to our support and training “toolboxes”.
For the last 5+ years, we have used GoToMeeting for product demos for prospective clients, software support and installation, and even new hire training. As we are a growing business, it would not be possible to have remote employees in over 30 states without great technology like this and others. If part of running your business is product demos, support calls or training, give GoToMeeting a peek. This is obviously not a fit for all industries, but if you are a software company, web designer or any other type of “virtual” business, it just might make life easier for you and your customers.
GoToMeeting might not be the cheapest option out there, but from my experience, it is the most cost effective for the features you get. Pricing is $49/month for unlimited meetings. Drops to $39/month if you decide to pay a year at a time. I am not trying to sell it, I just highly recommend it. It has helped enable our company to support new employees and customers better, stimulating better growth.
