Years ago, my daughter came to work with me. While finding a way to occupy her time, she drew a sweet little sign with the words “I Love You” on it and she hung it on the back of my door.
I don’t close my door often, but when I do, it’s usually for serious business.
The first time I closed my door and saw this little sign I realized that it was a great way of reminding me about what’s really important. It tempers my conversation with the group or individual and helps me not to take things as seriously.
Our company has now moved three times since she created that little note, and it’s one of the first things I put back up and always on the back of my door. Do you have a reminder that keeps you grounded? A way to remember that we work to live, not live to work?
